Spreads the heat beautifully

My Breezy Stove arrived in time for the colder weather and has proved to be working well at spreading the heat around from our freestanding logburner. It is well made and quite sturdy.

Does what it says

Appears to work well and does what it says. Only used a few times so far, so we will see.

Best winter accessory so far

This is a brilliant device! We have a large dining and kitchen area and the fan distributes heat wonderfully. It's been the best winter accessory so far!

Second winter, still impressed

My 2nd year with the fan. I can't believe how much warmer the house is, especially the bedrooms, and the amount of wood used is way down.

Without a fan, the heat goes up and stays there

Hot air rises from the stove and collects near the ceiling. The rest of the room warms up slowly, so you keep adding logs to feel it.

With the fan, the heat comes down to you

The fan pushes that warm air out across the room, at the height where you sit. The room heats up faster and more evenly, with the same amount of wood.

On a freestanding wood stove, sound off

How it feels

Light the fire. The fan takes it from there.

Put the fan on your stove top and leave it there. As the stove heats up, the blades start turning by themselves and push the warm air out into the room. There is nothing to switch on and nothing to charge.

  1. Minute 0 You light the fire The fan waits at the back of the stove top.
  2. Stove at 50°C The blades start The heat wakes it up. No switch involved.
  3. 121°C and up Full speed Warm air is pushed out across the room.
  4. 15 to 30 min You feel it from the sofa Owners usually notice the room 2 to 5°C warmer.

The physics

Hot underneath, cool on top. That difference runs the fan.

The base sits on your stove and gets hot. The fins above it stay cooler. Between the two sits a thermoelectric module that turns the temperature difference into a small electric current. Physicists call this the Seebeck effect.

Drag the stove temperature and follow the five steps.

The performance

Quiet, and it moves a lot of air.

Four curved blades turn at up to 1,100 rpm and push warm air across the room within minutes. At 25 dB, you will hear the fire before you hear the fan.
