- Inventory on the way
A firewood moisture meter that tells you if your logs are dry enough to burn. Push the pins into a freshly split face of the log and read the moisture level on the screen.
Why it matters
- Dry firewood gives more heat and less smoke
- Wet wood causes creosote build-up in the flue and blackens the stove glass
- A quick reading tells you which logs to burn now and which to leave to season
Most stove manufacturers recommend burning wood below 20% moisture.
